Write an atmospheric description!

This half-term in school, we will be focusing on creating atmosphere in our writing.  We will be writing two atmospheric narratives (stories) - one based on the Nordic myth of Beowulf!

Use the picture below to write an atmospheric paragraph (or two!) that sets the scene and creates atmosphere for the reader. Will your atmosphere be one of excitement or mystery, suspense or hope, gloom or happiness?

Have a read of the knowledge organiser for E-Safety.  See how much you can remember by attempting the E-safety game.  Don’t worry — it’s not a test — you can use the knowledge organiser to help you.

Art

This term we will be exploring Street Art.  We will be finding out more about Banksy and their artwork, and creating some of our own based on Social Media or Global Warming.

GEOGRAPHY

This term we will be continuing to learn about mountains! We will be finding out how mountains are formed and how this process links to plate tectonics.  This will lead us on to finding out about volcanoes and earthquakes and the causes (and consequences) of these two natural phonemena.  Keep an eye out for the Knowledge Organiser (work in progress - this is a BRAND NEW TOPIC.)

Meanwhile, use the game to revise the features of a mountain!

History

 

Last term we learnt about the Ancient Egyptians.  Take a look at the Knowledge Organiser to remind yourself of what we learnt about.

This term, we are learning more within our Living Things and their Habitats unit of work.  We will be learning about how living things are classified.  Have a look at our knowledge organiser.  Test yourself and see how much you can remember by covering key vocabulary - or see how much an adult or sibling knows about the topic!

french
