In Chesswood, we aim to foster a love of reading. In classes and year groups, we regularly share pupils' bespoke half termly reading targets, and celebrate their journey towards achieving them.

Each half-term, the Year Leader assembly celebrates pupil's reading achievements. Every child that has achieved their target has their name entered into a prize draw. Children who have achieved their target multiple times, have multiple tickets in the prize draw thus increasing their chance of winning.

The prize winners get to choose a reading book to keep and everyone who has achieved their target is shared with the year team and celebrated.
