New Daily Teams Meetings

Class pages will no longer be updated by the class teachers. This is due to our new learning expectations, which include a daily Microsoft Teams meeting, 08:45-09:00, to register home learners and prepare them for the day of learning.

To access Teams you need to be logged in to your school email account (Office 365) - for help, click here. Or see the child friendly video for using Office 365 - Outlook email  here.

For help using Teams, click here. Or see the child friendly video tutorial for using Teams  here.

Assessment work

You no longer need to email in evidence of your work on a daily basis - this has been replaced with set pieces of work that will be identified for assessment. Your teachers will tell you which ones these are in the morning Teams meeting and they will be clearly identified on the daily planning.

To send in your assessment piece, you will usually send an email (ideally from your own school account) with a photo or uploaded attachment of the work. Sometimes, assessment may just be to complete a Microsoft Form or to complete a quiz.

Your teachers would love to respond to all of your emails but that is not possible now. If you do not get a response, and you think you should have (i.e. you asked a question that needs a response), please resend the email with, ‘PLEASE RESPOND’ in the email subject line, this will act as a reminder in such busy times.

Teachers will select samples of work from those entered, to build exemplars of work against the set success criteria at differentiated levels (working towards age related expectations, working at expectations and working at greater depth) to reflect a normal classroom. The work selected will remain anonymous and will focus only on the good examples of meeting the success criteria. Pupils (and families) will then be given the opportunity to self-assess their work against the exemplars to judge how well they are doing and pick out some targets to work on in their next assessment piece.

Enjoy the new learning format.

How lovely was that??

Hi guys, it was SO lovely to see you all on teams today! Thank you for coming online and chatting to us. The children               in class were so excited to hear from you all too! Hopefully a few more of you are also looking at this class page now               as I think some of you may not have known about it. I loved seeing all of your art work! It was brilliant. We have some             incredibly talented children in our class!

For those of you who didn't catch what Mr Latter said at the end of the call, it would be great if you could come to the             meeting next week armed with a fact that you could share with the class. The children at school are going to come up             with some to share with all of you too.

I also wanted to say a HUGE well done to Sophia H who is now at 191% of her AR target! Absolutely AMAZING stuff,              you superstar!

     Ok, time for Top 10's!

Ooh, something else to add! For home learners, Mr Quick and Mr Haggart are hosting a live exercise class on Wednesday        27th January from 10:55-11:30. You have all been sent a teams invite for this event! There is a video you can watch to            get you ready and motivated for the class! You can find it here: https://youtu.be/3y9j13EDBbI Get involved guys! I'd love          to hear that you were there and took part!

I'm signing off for the week now as I won't be in until Monday. As you did last week, e-mail both myself and Mr Hicks               with any work that you do on Thursday or Friday - that means I'll see it on Monday, but if he has time, Mr Hicks will add         some to this page too!

Have a wonderful weekend you lovely lot! Speak to you on Monday.

Miss Usher x

Tomorrow we get to talk on teams!!! :)

Hi everyone, I hope you've had a good day today - I've not had any e-mails so I hope all is alright and you're able to                 access the learning OK. I'm super excited for tomorrow as I get to see you on a teams call! I've missed you all terribly               so am really looking forward to that. I'd like to check in with you all and see how you're doing, and maybe play a game           if we have time - we'll have to see. You'll need to make sure that you're showing courtesy, care and kindness and                     listening to one another, as it could be tricky.

Here is some more work that has ben shared with me recently. I'll be doing your Top 10's tomorrow - there's still time               to make your way onto them!

Part of Sam's biography on Ken Sugimori

Part of Cerys' biography on Gerald Durrell

Looking forward to speaking to you tomorrow!

It's mondaaaaaaay!

Hi everyone, I'm back after my few days off. I hope you had an excellent weekend! I had so many e-mails to come back           to, which was so lovely! I'm really enjoying seeing/hearing what you're getting up to at home!

I'm pleased to say that I believe our teams call will be on Wednesday this week, which means I'll be able to take part -             woohoo! I'm so looking forward to seeing all of you!

Remember, I'll be doing top tens again on Wednesday, so can you challenge yourself to make it onto one/more than one         of them? Give it a go!

Below are a few pieces of work that I have received over the last few days. Please send me some more so that I have               some to add in tomorrow's update!

Well done guys, you're smashing it!

IT'S Thursday so... IT's nearly friday!

I hope you're all well and looking forward to your Teams call tomorrow!

Many thanks for sending some work in and I've posted a couple of great pieces below.

Keep sending in more!

All the best and take care,

Mr Hicks

This is just the start of a great story from Sam!
Sam again writing all about Greek Masks!

Wednesday is here!

Hi guys, Miss Usher here again. I hope that you found your tasks ok yesterday and managed to get most/all of them                done. Thank you to those of you that have sent work in both yesterday and today - I'll put another small selection at                the end of this message. Remember, even if you don't have work to send me, please drop me an e-mail so I can hear                how you're getting on at home!

I'm enjoying making all of the videos for your English and reading. Between you and I, my favourite to make are the                  class reader ones! I'm really enjoying 'The Boy Who Sailed the Ocean in an Armchair' - I hope you are too!

Today is my last day in school this week as usual, and Mrs Hossin is currently isolating, so she won't be in on Thursday            or Friday. This means that there is a possibility that this page won't be updated until Monday. However, if you have                  any photos to share, please send them to both myself and Mr Hicks, and he will try to upload them to this page if he                gets a chance.

Below I've added 3 pictures of your home learning, as well as 3 top tens, completed today. Well done to those of you                that are on them this week. If you're not, could you challenge yourself to get onto one of them next week? You can do it!

Fantastic work, as always 5UH! As I've said, we really are missing you all, so drop us an e-mail and tell us what you're            getting up to.

I'll speak to you on Monday. Have a wonderful weekend and take care!

    Miss Usher.

Hello 5UH!!

Good morning everyone and welcome to 5UH's class page! You guys have done all of this before, but it's both Mrs                    Hossin's and my first time, so bear with us. We hope you've been getting involved in your home learning, especially                  as you have Mrs Hossin or myself doing your English inputs and your class reader videos each day - Luna (Mrs                          Hossin's daughter) even made a guest appearance!

We've loved hearing from you while you've been off, and it's been brilliant to see the work that you've been doing -                  well done and keep it up! Even if you don't want to share work that you've completed, we'd LOVE to hear from you!                  Let us know how your days are going and what you're getting up to. We miss you! Send us an e-mail and keep in touch!

I want to say a huge well done to Stanley for reaching over 100% of his reading target already - almost 200% actually!            Really brilliant work Stanley; keep it up!

Below I'll include some of the work that we've been sent over the last week - it'll just be a small selection, so if yours                doesn't feature today, don't worry! Keep sending photos in and we'll get them up at some point!

   Jake's impressive sausage rolls

Cerys' pom pom caterpillar, Po  Erdem's beautiful homemade bread

Take care 5UH and I'll check in again tomorrow.

   Miss Usher.
